Students who have completed class 10 may choose to enrol in a programme called the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. The Polytechnic term is also used in the Mechanical Engineering course. The essential ideas of engineering under mechanical specialization are covered in the course. The course must last at least a year. The study of mechanical engineering involves applying scientific and physical principles to the creation, manufacture, and maintenance of mechanical devices. The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programme is designed to educate and prepare students for careers as professionals in manufacturing and other industries. Students are prepared by the course to apply methods and technology in the workplace. It is provided by numerous institutions across India.
